Smoke In The Air

I take the train to school every day and when I get bored, I end up taking iPhone pictures of my surroundings and using the tilt-shift-gen app I have to edit them. It's really a fascinating way to take pictures because everything is constantly in motion. With the iffy camera on my second generation iPhone, photos can be anywhere from blah and blurry to crystal clear, actually beautiful pictures. Of course, the editing brings out the colors and the Photoshop smooths everything out to transform these snapshots. They have turned into photos that are astonishingly fabulous for iPhone pictures I took one afternoon on the way home from school.

PS: On a separate note, I spent my MLK day supporting this organization. I think its a great cause, so I thought I'd share!

Uncharted

During winter, it always seems that the sun takes longer to set than usual. And the time these photos were taken in, when the shadows had already started lengthening but the sky was still bright blue, is the most magical time. Yes, it may be the coldest, but the penguins on my gloves have bow ties and they keep my hands warm. Score.

Scintillate

I was surprised to find myself drawing vibrant colors from the wintery photos I took today. I expected to end up with a slightly subdued collection of pictures, but I found that the few I included in this post lent themselves very well to beautiful saturations of color. I especially love the last one! Expect more winter pictures soon :)
