Entrance

What do you think of when you see that sign? Does an entrance, a point or place of entering, come to mind? Perfectly reasonable.

The other day, though, I saw the sign and thought of "entrance" in another way: as a verb, meaning to fill with delight or wonder...wonder not unlike the feeling I experienced musing about why I had never thought of that before.

I realize, writing this, that my experience is a bit of a metaphor for today. Sometimes we are prone to living from place to place, entrances to exits, thought after reasonable, functional thought. Sometimes it seems like opportunities for delight or wonder in between are diminishing in numbers! I hope not, but did anyone think of "entrance" as anything but a point or place of entering?

I have reason to believe that my dog, Merlin, is a very happy dog who is content with life. Why? This is not the first time that I have picked up his water bowl to find a smiley face underneath:

Muggle sadness...

At 12:01 AM on Friday, July 15, I will see the epic finale of the greatest book and movie series the world has ever experienced (in 3D). I'm not sure if I should be excited (to see the movie) or cry (it will all be over!)....

Well, one thing is for certain: I, a reluctant muggle, still await my Hogwarts acceptance letter...
